Stillwater Cottages, just North of Huntsville. We cater to those who enjoy the simple pleasures of a lakeside Muskoka retreat shared with family and friends. Our property features four fully equipped lakeside housekeeping cottages and a tiny house, nestled among four treed acres with 300 feet of private sandy beach and shoreline on pristine Clear Lake. Over the past couple of years we have also been working on the Lodge, a cottage at the top of the property which sleeps eight and includes a kitchen able to host larger gatherings. It has a spacious living room with a wood burning fireplace.
Enjoy fishing, hiking, swimming, and boating in spring, summer and fall; and cross country skiing and groomed snowmobile trails in the winter. Our location is close to both Arrowhead and Algonquin Parks, giving you access to all the natural wilderness you could possibly need. Your hosts – Clarence and Ingrid – hope to share their love of Muskoka, trees, water and simple lakeside cottage living.
We fell in love with Muskoka when vacationing with our four small children at the family cottage on Whalley Lake in Magnetewan and camping at Algonquin Park.
The beauty of the lakes, trees and rocks and the refreshing air to breathe promote wellness and replenishment and when Ingrid had an opportunity to serve as the Executive Director for Christian Horizons for the North in 2014, we relocated to the Huntsville area.
Clarence is as a retired IT consultant and loves to work on all things related to technology, but has not lost his roots as a farm boy, who loves to be outdoors, either working on the property, taking photographs, or creating something in the shop.
Our four children are now married and have their own families and we began to search for a home on the water that could serve as a gathering place for our family. We were not expecting to become owners of a small cottage resort, however the beauty of the property and the idea to be able to share the property with others in this way caught hold and in June 2017, we moved to what was known as Allen’s Landing. We renamed it Stillwater Cottages from Psalm 23: “He leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul.”
We are excited to serve as your hosts and hope that each person who comes here has an opportunity to recharge and be replenished….
